Urupou is connected to Hiwa-i-te-Rangi.

Hiwa-i-te-Rangi, the youngest star within the Matariki cluster, holds a special significance. She becomes the beacon for our dreams and aspirations. We send our heartfelt desires and wishes for the year to Hiwa. This beautiful tradition echoes the act of wishing upon a star or setting a New Year’s resolution.
